What You Don't Want to Hear on the Way to Chemo

Today's poetry selection from the Writer's Almanac (NPR): Eating Together. The line that turned on the faucet:

She eats
as though starving—chicken, dolmata,
the buttery flakes of filo—
and what's killing her
eats, too.
