Didja Hear the One...

...about the cancer slayer that went to see an acupuncturist to mediate her symptoms/side effects who was oddly much more interested in talking about her earlier pregnancy, labor & delivery than her current "situation" and after hearing about the slayer's birthing choices and experience, went on to tell said slayer about his home birth experience where the baby was breech and for whatever reason there was no midwife in the picture and he tried to deliver the baby himself and IT DIED?!

I forgot to tell you about that? Yeeeeeeeeeah...I was all "Sorry about your dead baby, guy, can we get back to the topic of MY CANCER?" Needleless* to say, I haven't been back.

*Couldn't resist the terrible pun.

wtf? that's horrible. if you have showtime, check out penn and teller's bullshit this week... it's all about how acupuncture is a scam. ;) meanwhile, the wifey is currently in treatment for fertility help and refuses to watch the episode...

WTF? is right. It's completely hard to believe what people will find "OK" to tell you when they have you somewhat trapped. Sorry to hear about that little adventure you had (but love the fact that you can pun your way out of it).

I tried the acupuncture thing when I was all "holy-bejeezus what is going on here" with my newly whacked post-surgical chemoworld. The acupuncturist (who started out as an MD before going into the acupunctural side of health care) was good the first time, but I wasn't completely into the whole cleansing aspect of it (since I was actually and intentionally using the Western medical method of trying to whack the cancer with toxic chemicals and all). And the second time I went it actually hurt for a couple days afterwards. That pain did NOTHING to convince me to return, and I turned to cancer-oriented exercise to stave off the doldrums (and muscle-wasting) of my chemo-therapy.

Doesn't it just piss you off when you are trying to tell your story and then someone turns it around and makes it all about their little world? That always pisses me off (he says, realizing he just did the same exact thing). Thanks for reading, and for continuing to post about your world.

Smiles all around.
